Something to consider is double majoring. Engineering is pretty much applied physics, so a lot of stuff doubles up, especially in the first 2 years (math and science pre req's). I am majoring in ME and biomedical physics.

Engineering physics vs physics

Engineering is pretty much applied physics, so a lot of stuff doubles up, especially in the first 2 years (math and science pre req's). I am majoring in ME and biomedical physics. I started as an ME and looked at my schools physics program and talked to the counselor and got on track to do both. There, it seems that engineers are held to a bit higher standards and jobs that here are done by MSc people like applied physicists are done by engineers whereas engineers with BSc degrees would be managers and technicians, not top level engineers or scientists. IF you do Electricial Engineering you will have a easier and more profitable career than with the poverty associaited with physics. IF you dont like being poor and dont love physics enough to living in dispear, poverty and at time doubting why you are hear and are you wasting you life than physics is not for you and please goto Engineering. Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Engineering Physics concentrating in electrical.

Engineering Physics programs can take anywhere between one to four or more years for a full-time student to complete. If it is physics you want, then a physics degree is likely for you. You will cover the gamut of concepts and methods, from Newtonian mechanics to quantum and beyond. My understanding is that engineering physics gets you everything you need to be an engineer. Of course, that depends on the brand of engineering you're interested in. Something to consider is double majoring.
